I was born on Merseyside in 1959 and went to Newcastle University, where I gained a BA(Hons) in Fine Art in 1981. My work is abstract but takes its inspiration from different sources, including derelict buildings, graffiti, and jazz.
Pretty much a journal of the world I inhabit, or the world that inhabits me. Recording the icons, archetypes and signposts I encounter.
I’m an engineer, photographer and artist mainly focused on landscape, cityscape and travel subjects. This is my second time exhibiting at Cambridge Open Studios, the last time was back in 2011. My favourite works are my Hand Painted Photography canvases which I will be exhibiting this year.
Primarily, my work involves narrative and I aim to capture the atmosphere or essence of the text as much as possible.
