Summer at the Beach is very happy to announce the welcome return this weekend of the 31A (CAMBRIDGE) MODEL RAILWAY CLUB. This year on Sat 21st and Sunday 22nd July, they will be displaying their incredible 30 foot long Nightlayer’s Drove layout in the Studio Space [near the Sports Hall]. Please come along and see their fantastic workmanship and chat about whats involved in producing such an intricately detailed display.

Summer at the Beach is very happy to announce that as part of this years events we are staging a one off screening of the wonderfully film ‘Stuart a life backwards’ staring Tom Hardy and Benedict Cumberbatch. To those that don’t know it this is a deeply moving, touching, tragic but often funny story with its roots very much in Waterbeach’s not so distant past

This is a free event on Sun 15th July at 7.30 pm in the Waterbeach Barack’s Studio Space. Over 18’s only. Voluntary donations to Emmaus will be very welcomed.

Summer at the Beach 2018 sees even more artists exhibiting at Waterbeach Barracks this July. One whom we are very excited about having is Dave Pescod.

Dave studied at the Royal College of Art and his work is in several private collections and the V&A. His current paintings are concerned with memory (non-virtual) and the process of making.

Art is in everything, it is part of human behaviour in all we make and do and endemic.

Set Up Weekend

Following lots of hard work and preparation this weekend was the setup for the Summer at the Beach art exhibition.

It was a couple of long days, hanging work, moving and arranging but we think we are getting there.

This year as part of our opening event on the 1st of July we are running two great workshops for all ages.

First up its paper plane making. Try your hand at building a Head Hunter, a Ninja or even a Swashbuckler and see if you can make it to the role of honor on our test track of destiny. 12-4pm

Next up is the Bike Bling workshop. Bored of those old two wheels? Bring your trusty velo to the Barracks and see if we can make it sparkle again. 2-4pm.
