A Day at the Beach was set up in 2014 by Andrew Ashworth as a showcase for local artist and makers to exhibit their work in their own village. It was also a platform for inviting artists from outside the area to demonstrate that although only a small community Waterbeach was very much part of the wider art world.

The day contained an exhibition of paintings, sculpture photography, illustration and millinery, a Café, a collaborative art event with Waterbeach Primary school, juggling, talks by a local author Guinevere Glasfurd Brown and photographer Richard Youell , a graffiti artist working on the village green and a screening of the film ’Dimensions: A Line, A Loop, A Tangle of Threads’ which was shot in Waterbeach , followed by a discussion with the director and producer.
